illustration friday - packed

I spend a lot of time with young children and am constantly amazed by how packed their head space is. Just today, from my 6 year old, I have had: How do wheelchair people get into bed? How many seconds until Christmas? Can we also eat the fire when we toast marshmellows? Does God mind if we kill flies?

That's a great take on the illustration. Kids do ask some crazy questions. Mine asked me why do we need belly button for. Try answering that one. I think I tried to explain umbilical cords and that's how they were fed before they were born, but I gave up quickly when they looked so very confused.

I really like this and yes, it's so true about children. If only we could be so open and curious!!

I like your illustration and your style! You're so right about children! The favourite word of my 7 years old is "why?" :)

I love the fact that I work with children. A few of my favourites:

Kid #1: "I have a UTI"
Kid #2: "What's that?"
Kid #1: A urinary trail infection
(To Me) "Please don't give me any orange juice. The acid just won't work for me. Do you have any cranberry juice on you? I think that would be best"

They were 6 years old.

I love your illustration - so full of detail, the linework particularly, is really well done. Glad I found your blog, will definitely be browsing around a bit :)

Very sweet illustration, plus I LOVE the comments! I teach art classes for pre-schoolers 2 days a week and they amaze me with their observations.
